I find it ironic the first thing I write about is the title of a blog I decided to start on a whim. And to be quite honest with you, I really meant for the title to be something cute like “Blogging with Beth” or “Beth’s Blog.” But then I got to thinking, those names just felt so me-focused. Don’t get me wrong. They are super catchy and really just roll off the tongue, but after pondering it, I realized the legacy I would like to leave behind isn’t about me. Not even close actually, which is how I came to the conclusion that I just want you to join me in chasing heaven. Like I want everything I do whether it’s my job, my hobbies, my relationships, my clothes, my school or even this silly blog to be so Christ-focused that it makes others want to know more.

Is that not the sole-purpose of this life? To get to heaven? To be greeted by our Good Father. This life is too short to make things about myself. To do things for my own gain because the reality of it all is that my success is fleeting. But the Lord’s success…now that is forever. So that is why I chose “Chasing Heaven with Beth.” It is something everyone can take part in. The Lord has shown me that I spent years trying to fit him into my schedule when the fact is, everything I do should be centered around Him. I can’t wait to show you what I have learned as well as learn so much more because the Lord knows I am far from being done. So, taste and see that the Lord is good.
